Andrea Boiardi is a pilot working as Operational Suitability Expert in the Certification Directorate at EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). Within EASA he is also member of the European MPL Advisory Board and of the Internal Group on Personnel Training and he acts as operation inspector in the qualification of Flight Simulation
Training Devices on behalf of EASA. He represented EASA in the ICAO LOCART Working Group on Pilot Training for Upset prevention and recovery.
He started his flying career in the Italian Air Force, back in 1981 and, since then, he has flown a total of 11000 Flight Hours on airplanes ranging from the F104 single seat combat jet to the B777. He is an instructor pilot and has flown, between 1989 and 1994, with the Italian Air Force aerobatic team “Frecce Tricolori”.
He holds a bachelor degree in Aeronautical Science and a master degree in Political Science.
His expertise include pilot training and operations, CRM training, human factors air accident investigation and FSTD qualification.
